Free can mean three different things

A free website builder gives you a tool to make a website yourself. A free trial gives you temporary access to a paid tool. A free designer-made preview lets you see a first design before choosing whether to buy the finished service.

MadeReal offers the third option: a free homepage preview built around your business. It is not a completed website with permanent free hosting. You do not need to pay a deposit or enter card details just to see it.

A builder or a designer: which fits you?

A builder can suit someone who enjoys choosing layouts, writing pages, finding images and maintaining the site. Check the provider’s current limits on domains, branding, forms and paid features before investing your time.

A designer-led route suits someone who would rather explain the business and have another person turn it into a website. You still need to provide accurate details, suitable photos and feedback. You are not expected to become the web designer.

Neither route guarantees enquiries. The finished website needs useful information, relevant visitors and an easy way to contact you.

What to send for your preview

Start with your mobile number or email, your business name, what you do and where you work. If you have a current website, logo, Google profile or a few job photos, those help too. You can send more detail after the first conversation.

You do not need a polished brief. “I’m a joiner in Colne, mostly fitting kitchens and internal doors” is a useful starting point. We can then ask which work you want more of and what a customer should do next.

What should you check before approving it?

Look at it on your phone as well as a bigger screen. Ask:

  • Can a new visitor tell what I do without scrolling around?
  • Does the design feel like my business?
  • Are the services and coverage accurate?
  • Are the photos mine, or properly licensed and appropriate?
  • Is the next step clear: call, message, enquiry or visit?

The preview establishes a direction. It is normal to give feedback. A first homepage design is not the same as every service page, a connected booking system and a fully tested live website.

From “I like it” to a live website

We agree the pages and content, clarify hosting and any domain or email costs, and confirm your payment route. We finish the agreed website, let you approve the details and check the mobile layout and contact routes before launch.

The main option is £35/month for a designed and managed website. Cancel anytime; the website goes offline when your plan ends. There is also a separate £197 one-off build if you prefer to pay once. These have different ongoing arrangements, explained on our pricing page and cost comparison.

If you decide not to go ahead, you do not have to buy the website. The preview remains free.
